GM frens!
An update from our side! We've been working hard in the background on forming, shaping and structuring the community wallet & council duties. As everyone can probably imagine, this takes quite some time, as when we were chosen 2 months ago, there was nothing in place. Which is on one hand really cool, because its up to us all to get the community wallet up and running, but on the other hand it takes a lot of time to create processes, templates and structure and we of course need your help with this too!
We haven't been sitting still! We have had loads of ideas coming in from you all and ourselves and we're trying to work out what the best way is to bring these idea's alive. We also take into account that this has to be sustainable and for the long-term, so we don't drain the wallet in the first 6 months).
We want to thank everyone who has been putting forward suggestions and proposals for their involvement and ideas! Please bare with us while we are trying to get a process in place to make everything easier and fair for everyone to execute these ideas. As with everything, our main goal will always be to provide more value for our community and to grow our community and be here for the long term! We take this very seriously.
A few updates:
Our Online Community meet up! Thanks again for everyone who joined! In this meetup (you can still watch the recording if you missed it) we've shared our thoughts and how we want to run the community wallet. We are now working on a white paper so we can share this with everyone and it will be easy and quick to read! :). We have also shared our concern that 3 months is too quick of a turnaround for council members. As mentioned before, it takes a lot of time to get structure and processes in place and it brings a lot of admin with it. Our ambition is to really create value and ROI from the wallet and build something that will last in to the future, not just short term gains, and benefit the community. Right now is so important to the success of the project and we have every intention to make this happen.
With this in mind, we want to propose that we 3 (silversurfer, partyboy and silverpalm) stay on for 12 months, so that we can lay the foundations for the future and the next council members.
This will be our proposal that we will put up to vote asap as our 3 months time is ending soon.
Wen Merch! For everyone who's seen the online meeting, you know that we've found a really cool website who can create our own merch. You can connect your wallet and choice your own design, with your own degen! We are finalizing everything with this website to have it up and running asap! We might also organize a competition with it! Stay tuned!
Communication / Community involvement.
We know everyone is super busy and it can be hard to keep up with everything. We have also been thinking a lot about how we can make the communication between us all and the updates about the community wallet as easy as possible. We have therefor thought about a few ideas to act on
Twitter - We want to start our own community twitter page. So we can share quick updates, support our community by retweeting and engaging in everything our community members are working on/dealing with. And to hold twitter spaces where we can also do brainstorm sessions together on new ideas/proposals.
Instagram - Along side twitter, we would like to start an instagram account too. For similar content and reasons as we want to start a twitter account, BUT with the main reason to also reach IRL/"web2" people. As you know, one of the goals is to grow our community, grow connections and frenships! We believe that instagram can be a great tool to reach more people outside the web3 space and show them what our community is all about!
Website - We would love to create our own community website. A place where we can bring everything together. Updates, news, meet up information and everything you can imagine! If you are a website developer (or have a fren who is) please reach out to us, we would love for this website to be build by one of our community members! We want to collect all information about costs/time involved/design/options etc etc about this potential website before we send the final proposal to you all for you to vote on this idea! We will keep you posted!
For all of the above we are welcoming suggestions to name/brand our community DAO. Ideas: PartyDegens(DAO) or PartyFrens (DAO), ??
Back to the Processes and Structures.
We are currently working out how we can best proceed with any proposal coming in. We had a cool idea about organizing a PartyTank (think about SharkTank) where community members can pitch their proposal if this is a business idea/ project start up. This will give us and all community members the option to ask questions and fully understand the proposal before anything is put up to vote.
We are also working on a better proposal template. As proposals can be very different from eachother we are working out what the best 'standard template' would be to get enough initital information with any proposal.
Why are we putting processes and templates in place for proposals and not just put everything up for vote straight away? We have thought about this a lot and we feel like its our duty to act in the community's best interest. Therefor we believe we have to do some 'pre scanning' and give the community the chance to ask any questions about the proposals first. We want to make sure that every information is there, that the proposal actually brings value for our community and do our best that the whole community knows exactly what they are voting for. We want to make sure that the proposals will bring value to all of our community members and not drain the wallet within a few months. We're always open for feedback and suggestions as this is not an easy task.
We hope you can all see why it’s taking some time to get everything up and running (and we are all working on our IRL jobs in the meantime too). Rest assured, we are very serious and passionate about this and we want to make this community wallet a big success for everyone!
